Stand Down Services

Serving those who served with support, hope, and community—one Stand Down at a time.

What is Stand Down?

Stand Down is where our mission began. Since 2007, Veterans Coalition of Pennsylvania (VCOP) has provided a safe, welcoming space where homeless and at-risk veterans can access the essentials they need to live with dignity and hope.

What We Provide

At each Stand Down, veterans receive:

  • Nutritious meals and beverages
  • Clothing and footwear for all seasons
  • Hygiene products and personal care items
  • Access to community resources including housing support, counseling, and employment connections
  • A network of support from volunteers and partner organizations who care deeply about our veterans

Why It Matters

  • Many veterans face challenges transitioning to civilian life, from housing insecurity to food instability.
  • Stand Down events bring together resources, compassion, and community in one place.
  • Beyond necessities, veterans find connection, encouragement, and respect.
